Room Redo

Before:

A few weeks ago, I read this. I loved her "peacock blue." I couldn't think of anywhere that color would work in my house. Then, last week, looking at the colors in our rug, I decided I could do a similar color right in my living room. My kids are at my sister's right now, so this was the perfect time to paint. So, I picked a darker version of the peacock blue. I was finished by 6 pm yesterday. It was very difficult to get the correct color in a photo. It isn't quite this: (needs to be a bit greener)

Or this: (too green and muted)
This was the closest I could get to the correct color:

Though, I would say it's still a bit brighter than this. (Yes, BRIGHTER.)

At first, I really liked it. Then, every time I would leave the room, I would come back in and think "Whoa, that's blue!" At one point, I walked in the room and start laughing. Allen is walked in and said "oh, my" a lot. He then started taking photos and texting his mom about the color. I don't know how I feel about it right now, but we're going to live with it for awhile.

Hey...I think it's pretty! I have no ability to "visualize" things in my head...so I still can't imagine how it goes with the other walls....but I do think it's pretty with your furniture and pictures!

Very nice, but I like blue, peacock involved or not. I thnk of a blue sky with clouds. Please tell all that I miss them and love them. Bob

I could post almost this same entry... except our living room and dining room are now a dark burnt orange. I figure we can enjoy this for a while, and then paint it when we get tired of it. People who live with all beige and white walls puzzle me. Who can stand that?? (And then you almost have to buy colored/print furniture, which is much more of an investment designwise, and expensive if you want to redo the room! Paint is cheap!) So thumbs up for the peacock from me!

o.k I just now saw this - must have missed it being too caught up in Ashylns dress for days! love it! also i LOVE this blue! LOVE LOVE LOVE it - very bold and it so works. I am entirly over beige and find it frustrating when thats all the colour palette you see these days! Mind you I lived in a very blue room - but it was my favorite of the entire house.
