Kisses

Kitty snuggles

Oh, the healing power of a kiss! I'd always thought it was funny that kids believed that a kiss would make something feel better. I also thought this was something that parents taught their children. I never taught Ashlyn that a kiss would make anything feel better. Things just seemed to naturally feel better if she got a little bit of attention from me. Of course, I reinforced this, because she will stop crying immediately when whatever hurts is kissed. Occasionally, more than one kiss is needed, and she will hold her toe (or whatever) up to me and say "more toe" for more kisses. Today, she ran over my foot with her doll stroller. I told her that she hurt me with her stroller. So, she got down and kissed my foot. And, you know what? My foot felt better.

I LOVE this post!!! What great pictures! Plus, I am sure an Ashlyn kiss would make me feel better if my toe was ran over. Love you guys!

Yes, Ethan is CERTAIN that a kiss will fix any owie! He does the same for me, always kisses MY owies! Kids are so simple like that, so sure that things can be fixed with something as easy as a kiss. That's the beauty of them, and the reason we keep them around! Well, one of the reasons... :)
