I realized that though I have posted lately, I haven't added any pictures. I have regretted that I haven't taken more pictures recently. My new resolution is to not leave the house again without my camera. In the last couple of weeks, Allen and I have both taken all day classes about the local area. Allen's class dealt completely with language and culture, while mine the next week was also an introduction to facilities and programs on post. I would have preferred his class. So, I am taking a German class this week. We are also going to continue to take Rosetta Stone online. I feel a bit lost when trying to talk to people in stores and restaurants. Anyway, here are a few of our pictures.
The week that Allen was taking his class, Ashlyn and I were stuck at home. Of course, we were taking a couple of walks a day, just to get out of the house.

Hanging out in the backyard
By the end of the week, I was feeling very stuck, so we headed to Regensburg, which is our closest larger town. We just walked around the downtown area and had dinner.
Allen and Ashlyn in front of the Donau River (or Danube). Ashlyn is pointing at a boat.
The view to their other side. The small building in front is the oldest sausage kitchen. I believe they have been making sausage since 500 AD.

What wonderful pictures! It looks like a beautiful town.
Thanks so much for the pictures. How much more interesting than just snow and gray trees in the background! Making sausages since 500 ad? Obviously sausages came way after beer! I guess they finally figured out they could not live on beer and bread alone! And then someone thankfully invented pommes frites. Looks like a nice backyard in a very nice neighborhood. I like the architecture in Germany and of course all the really old stuff like bridges, churches and the castles. You should be able to book boat cruises on the Danube. That would be enjoyable! Thanks again for your postings. After we talked on the phone the other day I really started missing you all. There is the speaker in front of my chair sitting near the fireplace. I started seeing Ashlyn putting her hand in the hole in the speaker and looking my way with a mischievous smile on her face. That alone as worth the phone call!
You all take care and keep posting those pictures! Love, B/D/P
What a great experience/opportunity for you all, especially Ashlyn. I am so happy for you guys.
Thank you for sharing these gorgeous pictures! Of course, all the cool old buildings are gorgeous as well - but Ashlyn is the prettiest thing! Good luck with picking colors...but I am the last person to give design advice. I'm repainting our bathroom for like the 80th time.
