Weekend in the Redwoods

I have not recovered from the loss of my camera. I now look at my fancy schmancy sewing machine and think, "you are NOT a camera." Love is fickle, though I am still sewing like crazy. Quilting version of drowning my sorrows, I guess.

However, my kids are still doing cute things, and pictures taken with a lesser camera are barely better than no pictures.
So, the last weekend in May we headed north to the Redwoods. We stopped at a river along the way for splashing, fishing, and rock throwing. The kids had a blast in the water. We did stop at a touristy bit along the way.
Because who doesn't want to drive through a tree?

We "fake camped." (rented a cabin)

Where the kids had their first taste of s'mores.

Ashlyn ate hers quickly and wanted another, plus more roasted marshmallows.

Christopher carried his around for an hour, ending up with marshmallow all over his hands, with grass stuck to it.

It was a good weekend.

Oh. Sigh.....Wow. That looks so wonderful and beautiful and lovely. I totally have the camping itch right now, but then I remember we are dealing with diapers and potty training (STILL) and not sleeping through the night and....well...I chicken out.

The car in the tree pic is GREAT. BTW, what kind of car is that? We're looking into getting a new one and I'm asking everyone what they have and what they like. Does it have a third row seat?

I have lots of memories of visiting the redwoods as a child. What fun! Can't wait till we can have some family adventures with daddy!!! Camping is going to be so much fun (and so little sleep, I'm sure).

Christopher is getting SO big!

S'mores ... yum

What a beautiful time!...we are truly going to ditch our house projects and 'commitments' soon and get out of here for a weekend Buffalo float! You are inspiring me, yes.

That looks like so much fun! I know that Ed can't wait until Tate is old enough to camp (and I'm sure that he won't want to "fake" camp it with Tate -- maybe they'll have to go without mom. I'm not sure if I can do without a bathroom and shower).

Sara has a great idea with the smores.

Christopher: grass covered marshmallows are yummy!

Great pics, even though they weren't taken with your "real" camera!

Christopher is looking more grown up each time I see a picture! wow!
Great photos - great angles - do they all have the date in the corner? I just got my latest Shutterfly book done - for one through 2 years old and one for summer 2008 (only like a year behind!)
