Snippets of our life

Ashlyn likes to pretend to nap, but has stopped taking an actual nap most days. I miss nap time, but I was getting too frustrated at her refusal to even try to stay in her room. Ashlyn is taking ballet again. Two of her friends are now in the class. It isn't going as well. The girls really just want to play. I told Ashlyn that she didn't get to keep taking lessons if she wouldn't listen to Ms. Jodi. Today we practiced a bit. Ms. Jodi is Australian, so I found myself giving instructions in an Australian accent. It took me a minute to realize what I was doing! We have three stories in our home, with one stairwell. I had a few things waiting at the top of the stairs waiting to take down. Ashlyn threw them down the hole. She had so much fun, that she started grabbing clothes to throw, too.
Just a cute picture of my buddy in jammies.
Saturday, Christopher was having a hard time napping, but was obviously tired. I put him on my back and soon:
Doesn't he look comfortable?

He looks relaxed, though not truely comfortable! I noticed he's slobbering on the straps. If it bothers you, I bought the sucking pads they have at the website and they work nicely. If I could sew, I'd make my own. Terry cloth and velcro. Looks easy - maybe I should have tried it. But, I got free shipping somewhere and they were, like, $12.

Love the post. I can understand the frustration about naptime ending. I felt the same way when William gave his up. I tried the "rest time" in his room. Um, that did not last too long. And I, like you, was getting too upset and frustrated when naptime/rest time arrived....so we just gave it up. William was happier and now I am lukcy if he falls asleep for ANY sort of a nap....but then he is almost 5.

We also had an open floorplan at one of our homes and William LOVED, LOVED, LOVED to throw things overboard. We had to put a quick stop to it because he had a good aim and often hit the tv. Fun!

Keep the photos comin!

I would be LOST without nap time. Fortunately, Daniel does great with his rest time (quiet reading or coloring in his room) while the other 2 sleep. About once a week he will actually fall asleep.

Nat - Ezra drools all over his Ergo straps, too. I have been meaning to ask you about your covers. I ended up buying a pair of car seat strap covers that work fine.

Cute pictures, Angie. (Of course, it helps that your kids are adorable and you are an amazing photographer!)

Nora does not nap either, but she goes to bed around 7 and sleeps until 8! I love your photos. What kind of camera do you have? And, where do you find the time to quilt?!?!?
