Plants, excuses, and a baby

We don't have a garden, but I would like to have a few planters around the house. My plan was to shop on Saturday, so I could be kid-free. Allen ended up working, while i also watched our neighbor's 4 children. (So much for kid-free!) No big deal, I can just go on Monday (Stores are closed on Sunday.) So, this morning I dropped Ashlyn at hourly care, while Christopher and I went shopping. I went to the garden places in Parsberg, closed. That seemed strange, but I drove to Regensburg. Stores are closed there, too. Lovely, I've just wasted my time (and an 1/8 tank of gas) driving around on a German holiday!

I realize that I haven't posted in a bit. I have a trip to share, but I just couldn't seem to get around to it last week. I was overwhelmed with the chores that never end (mopping floors/dog tracks in mud and child pees, finish putting away clean laundry/carry full hamper downstairs.) I told Allen that what I wanted for Mother's day was a few child-free hours to work on my quilts. So, I am in the midst of planning a new one, and am putting the finishing touches on another top. I love the beginning stages of a quilt. I think that may be my favorite part, though I also love seeing them completed as well.

Last week was Christopher's 4 month well-baby check up. He's fine, of course. He had vaccinations, which went a bit better than last time. Of course, they were out of one, so he'll have to get an extra later. His stats: 25 1/2 inches, 16 lbs, 14 oz.

And now, pictures.

Love the pictures of your little guy. I can't ever seem to get caught up. Today, someone sent me a Facebook invite and between picking up after the kids, polishing Liv's toes and fingers, and doing laundry, I created a profile. Like I needed to waste more time when we haven't even finished unpacking and we have friends visiting in a couple of days!

You watched four kids plus your own? You rock. I would NEVER do it unless there was an emergency! I'm too chicken and lack patience!
