Picking up Ashlyn from day care:

Day care worker: When we were singing a dinosaur song, Ashlyn started roaring like a dinosaur.

Me: Yes, Ashlyn likes dinosaurs. She pretends that they are coming to get her.

Day care worker: It was just so funny, because she's usually so quiet.

Me: ???

5 minutes later, in the car:

Ashlyn: AAHHH! AHHHH! AHHHH!

Me: What's wrong, Ashlyn?

Ashlyn: AAAHHH! AHHHH! AAAHHH!!!!!!! My buddha, My BUDDHAAAAAA! (Buddha is how she says granola bar.)

Me: Hold on, Ashlyn. Stop screaming.

I pull over to try to calm her down.

MP: Is there a problem?

Me: My daughter is throwing a fit, so I'm trying to calm her down. (Go away.)

Ashlyn: AAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! AAAHHHHHH!!!!

I start driving, turn up the radio, and contemplate the mysteries of my QUIET child.

Thank the lord - someone else also ponders the mysteries of a quiet child - Jackson is peaches and cream when visiting - almost mute - then he comes home.

One of DS's preschool teachers tell me what an angel he is, a perfect joy in the classroom. In the past few months he's actually acted up a few times when I got there to pick him up. She was so surprised b/c he never acts like that in class. He tends to be really good for everyone else (non-family) but if I'm around, well, he's himself, which is your typical 3 yr. old.

This is why your sister listens to ACDC as loud as it will go during "fussy times"!

Nora is what my friend calls, "a whole lot of child." I don't know what to do some days. Yesterday she wanted me to get her Mulan, and cried for 3 hrs. when she didn't get it...help me, mama!!

I think it is hilarious that she calls her granola buddha. All I can think out, for some reason, is "get in my belly." from Austin Powers. :)
