Famous Last Words

Ok, I realize that it has been more than three weeks since the last time that I posted, but for good reason. First of all, our internet has been quite annoying. Then, we MOVED!

I realize that it was just 6 months since we moved the last time, and only 5 months since we received our household goods. During one of the days that we were getting our furniture, Allen mentioned that we could move in a few months. This was after I had painted the entire house, plus I hate moving. I quickly turned to him and said "We are NOT moving." However, we have not been happy with our house. The living room and dining room were tiny. While the bedrooms were huge, they were separated into two different floors, plus we didn't have a garage. I still didn't think we would move, though. Then, our neighbor started talking about this great housing on the other side of town. I told Allen that I would be willing to move, but ONLY to that housing. I liked our little town and already knew people here. However, the more I thought about it, the more I disliked that I was going to be putting Ashlyn's bedroom on a different floor from our own. The more she got up during the night and very early mornings, I became convinced that we were going to want to move. We were not able to stay in the same town, because of the housing that was avaliable.

Last weekend, during Allen's first long weekend after rotation, he (and a couple of his team members) moved us. My job consisted of packing, unpacking, painting, repainting, and cleaning. I started out painting our new living room, since we already had plenty of paint left over. After repainting the old house back to white (which is not near as satisfying as painting a color) I was glad that I hadn't painted any more of the new house. I will still paint the children's rooms, but that is it.

Our internet is still not working great, so I am on a friend's computer right now. So, sorry, no pictures yet. Hopefully, Allen will get our own computer figured out and I can update more often.

So, even though I am feeling a little overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done right now, we really like our new house, so it will all be worth it.

I hate moving. So, I know how you feel. Though, I haven't moved while pregnant. Our household goods haven't arrived yet. No idea when they will. We've been told the end of the month. Well, that's next week or the week after. I'm nervous b/c we have no garage (carport only) and only closets for storage which are nearly full already. I have no idea where we're going to put everything. Like, bikes, Chariots (we have a single and double - the single will have to be sold), etc. Matt refuses to let me paint. But, since our house needs new paint anyway, I'm thinking about asking the landlord to paint our kitchen and living room when they renovate the place next door and do some minor renovations on our place. Since it's not military housing, I don't see why they wouldn't paint it a color of my choice. I'm doing poster sized prints of the girls with a special mounting and lamination in the play room and just putting pictures up in their bedrooms. I may do some wallies. Wallies.com has some nice new things. I wish he'd just let me paint!! But, since we may only be here 15 more months, I don't know if it's worth it anyway...someday!

You are KIDDING me. Pregnant? With a toddler? Moving? Painting and repainting? I cannot believe you are so energetic. I KNOW I wouldn't have painted a single scrap of wall in the new place if I had been in your shoes.

I can't wait to see pictures and I hope that it feels better and like a house that will work out for y'all! I wouldn't want to move Becca to a different floor either!

Yea! It's great to hear from you. I was starting to get worried (Ed even suggested sending you an e-mail to make sure that everything is okay). It kind of sucks that you had to move again. At least you're in nicer housing:-) That's always a plus! You'll have to post pics of your new digs! Take care!

Ug - moving while pregnant with toddlers is no fun ... I can understand how you are feeling. I was so grateful to have my MIL here with us this summer when we moved. She did all the painting for me and so much more. I think that's the only way to do it!

I'm still not totally unpacked and settled and now that I'm 38 weeks, it's just less of a priority. I'm sure I'll have lots of long days this winter to finish all the details.

Sounds like your new place is going to be great for you. Enjoy!

WOW! you moved! That's a lot of work! But, you hadn't been there that long and with 2-3 more years to go, I'm sure it was worth it for a house you liked a lot better. I'm a nut about having my kids on the same floor as me. I have this irrational fear of a night time house fire and them being on a different floor is just TOO scary for me. At least when they are this little. Maybe when they're teenagers!! :) You'll have to post some pictures of your new place!! I'm glad everything's ok, I was wondering what was going on when I had actually made a more recent post than you!! That's not normal! :)
