Counting down, in spite of myself

I know. I HAVE used this photo too much, but I love it. Ashlyn was 5 weeks old at the deployment ceremony.

I swore that I would not count down to anything. I was going to be totally calm, and not believe that Allen was coming home, until he was home. I had every intention of just totally expecting another extension, just in case. I did not want to have my hopes dashed, again. But, ALLEN WILL BE HERE IN 4 DAYS!!!!!!!!! Did you hear me? FOUR DAYS! That is just 3 more days in which I do not get to see him. In four days, I will get to hold him and see him hug our daughter again. I am not totally calm. I am an emotional, hopeful, counting-down-to-the-homecoming wreck!

I think we've all been trying not to get too excited after the last time but it's starting to feel real now that you are saying it too! A lot of prayers will be answered the day he's home with you and Ashlyn.

Angie,
I am so excited for you guys! Just reading your post makes my heart beat faster. I will be checking the blog each day in honor of the count down. I can't wait to see a new picture of you, Allen, and Ashlyn all together!

I just want to tell you that I am so proud of you! The way that you and Allen handled the deployment and extension is such an example to all of us about true sacrifice. What an incredible family!

We love you guys and count you as lifelong friends.
