I'd walk a mile for...

I love Ashlyn's smiles. She is a very happy baby, and, generally, they aren't hard to come by. Her biggest ones are usually for her favorite people, Mama, Armand, and Ranger. The problem is, she doesn't necessarily smile on command. For instance, when I have my camera. She really wants to play with the camera, so when I bring it out, she is very interested and starts crawling towards me. Silly noises used to work for pictures, but not so much anymore. In the above picture, she was laughing at Ranger. Yesterday, I got my first glimpse of Ashlyn as a teen, while I was trying to get her to laugh. I was doing one of my silly dances (which only Ashlyn gets to witness.) Not even a smile. This one included monkey noises. I'm sure the look I received was more along the lines of "What are you doing, mom?" If she was actually a teen, I'm sure it would have been followed with "I'm so embarrassed!" I'll have pictures of these looks for you in 12 years or so.

Well, I have heard of children growing up fast, but comparing her to a teenager before she's 1 year old! Whoa! You may have the biggest handful of girl of all times!

I love Ashlyn smiles too. She always gives crazy Jamie good ones. Miss you and both your smiles.

I love her smiles too - especially the ones she shares first thing in the morning. They're the ones that make you feel all warm and good inside.
