Being a bit slow in language development, it is even more exciting to us. I love this stage. I remember feeling a bit this way with Ashlyn, but with Christopher, whoa! It has just happened so much ALL at once.
One conversation that we have at least once a day is after I change his diaper. Christopher says "I want to see that poop." When I comply, he says, "Ew. Do we eat that?" When I respond in the negative, Christopher finishes for me "We don't eat any poop."
While walking through Target, Christopher points out many different things, "What's that? Do we eat that? WHY?" Why is one of his favorite words, which is said with two whiney syllables. He wants to know why about everything. He also likes to point out colors, specifically car colors. As we drive down the road, Christopher is in the back seat with a running commentary of how many white (or whatever color he is attached to that day) cars he sees. "A white car. Another white car. I see three white cars, Mom."
Christopher talks slowly, often emphasizing the beginning of each word. He still needs help. He's still a bit behind other 2 1/2 year olds. But he is TALKING. (nonstop)

I knew he had to be a smart kid.
At least WC is not punching you in the shoulder when he sees cars that interest him! And it's also interesting that he asks during the daily diaper discourse "do WE eat that..." instead of "I." Thanks again for posting! Miss all of you! Bob

Yay! Exciting times! Way to go, Christopher!
