First Impression

The kids and I arrived here on Wednesday evening. After two months, I can finally UNPACK our suitcases!

I'm trying to get everything in order, and the kids are trying to keep me from doing that. Allen bought a tent for the kids. Really, it is 3 tents that can all hook together. He had one part of it set up in each of the kids' rooms and one in the living room (we don't have any furniture in there.) Ashlyn saw the original box and immediately had to drag them all (including pulling one down the spiral staircase) into the living room. She has played with it for two days straight. The tent also included 25 small balls, which Christopher has carried and deposited into every corner of our apartment.

We are in an apartment, so no yard. This is our first experience in a multiplex type building. The biggest downfall to this is Ranger. He is not used to going outside infrequently. I think it will take a bit of adjusting to figure it out. Ashlyn loves the elevator, which she mispronounces eligator about half the time. We live a block away from a park, and are surrounded by so many restaurants. I want to eat out for EVERY meal.

It is nice to be home.

What kind of apartment has a spiral stair case?

Glad you're "home" and now please go out and eat at a nice yummy restaurant with great service for me.

It must feel so good to finally be getting settled in.

As for the restaurants - yum! If it's anything like here, I couldn't stay out of restaurants, bakeries, etc. for months. And, actually, we're still finding great places to eat! YUM!

An apartment with a sipral staircse has a loft. I don't know if Allen and Angie want me to say much but I'll just say that the place they are now living is based on the theme of famous classic painters. I'll bet Angie really likes that because the web site for their place shows lots of colors and interesting designs. But anyway, Allen, Angie, congratulations that you have been able to get your family in your own space again. With all that the SF area has to offer, your year there should be a great adventure. It sounds like Ashlyn and Christopher started having a good time right off the bat! Ashlyn would probably prefer no furniture so she has plenty of space to do her Great Princess Ballerina dance! With Chistopher placing plastic balls in corners that may be a clue that he has Angie's artistic talent to make his space interesting!

Good luck, have fun and Angie if you do try to eat out at all or most of the restaurants in your area, a suggestion would be to report your dinning experiences in your blog. Please give Ashlyn and Christopher hugs and kisses and tell them "Papwpaw loves you."

Love, Bob/Dad/Pawpaw

Wait, you are in SF???? You rock. I love it there. And, it's all sorts of eco-friendly and sustainable living, etc. I could live there, easily!

I know that Allen is SO glad to have ya'll back with him....and that YOU are so glad to have a place that can be messed up without worrying about someone else's things!!

I can't wait to come and see for myself what SF looks like. I saw on the weather page that it will be in the 90's later this week! Ick...too early for me!

I miss you all very much, and I would just love to squeeze both of the kids right now.
