Happy New Year!

Last night, Allen joked about how we could get up at 5:30, so that we could watch the ball drop in New York at 6 am our time. Somebody seemed to take that seriously, so I have been up with a stinker bean since before 5, after going to bed at 1:30. Apparently, I don't need more than 3 hours of sleep.

We had Garrett, his mom, Renee and their new baby, Addison, over for the evening. After putting our kids to bed, we played cards until midnight. When the fireworks started, I grabbed Ashlyn out of bed to see. She liked them for a few minutes, but then wanted to go back to sleep.

morning update: Ashlyn woke up this morning asking if Garrett and Renee and their baby were here. She also wants to see more fireworks!
