Because what's the point in having children if you can't tease them?

Ashlyn has really been doing better after school these days. We have reinstituted nap time. Though she rarely actually naps, apparently just spending even a short time resting in her room is good. On a whim, I braided her hair. The braids actually keep her hair out of her face all day, if she would leave them alone. One big change since starting school (and the weather change) is her clothing preferences. She has to really want to wear a dress to put up with tights, apparently. Of course, I didn't buy her any new pants for school, only dresses.

Yesterday was Oktoberfest at her school. So, she dressed the part. She sighed after looking in the mirror. She then said, "I'm so pretty in this dress. So pretty."

Allen tried to call her "Heidi." She said, "NO! I'm a PRINCESS! A Bavarian princess!"
She still has her moments when she gets home from school.

No, I don't like it!

Leave me alone!
Quit taking my picture!

She sounds so very much like Nora. It is too funny. I love the dirndle (is that how you spell it?!)

Olivia begged for a dress just like that when we were in Germany. But, we couldn't find one less than 70E. If you know where to get it cheaper, let me know and I'll send you money to send me one-it would make the best gift ever!

Yesterday, she went to school as a Flamenco dancer, shoes included, b/c I couldn't get her to change into anything else (I packed different clothes, obviously). She spends all day dressing up to be "fancy." It's either fancy dresses and/or playing w/her babies/being a mom. That's it. That's all the kid likes (oh, and books).

I wish Ashlyn would nap for you. But, as long as things are getting better, I'm relieved to hear it! Liv is still a champion napper, often napping longer than Lila. My time will come, however, b/c I don't think Lila will nap past age three.

You are so mean - taking her picture all upset like that. But I totally would have done it, too. You need to get something out of dealing with a cranky child all day, so you might as well laugh a little.
