Big 'un

I'm the cutest boy, ever!

Have I mentioned that my son is gigantic? He has rolls on his thighs. A woman thought he was close to the age of her 4 month old, but he's just a lump. As of his two month doctor's appointment, Christopher weighs 14.2 lbs and is 24 inches long. The doctor told me that he's at the top of the charts.
Enough of this tummy-time crap!

Christopher also had his first shots at this appointment. All three of us (Ashlyn included) were in tears. Ashlyn cried and kept repeating "my brother, my Christopher (which sounds more like "my bruder, my Kiffer.")" Christopher just screamed and wouldn't even nurse right away. He has been a bit cranky since the shots, but is really doing fine. He's asleep right now, while Ashlyn is crying.

I wanted Christopher to take a pacifier. No such luck at this point, but he started sucking on his hand recently. It seems to be quite yummy.

If I can just get that in my mouth.

Oh my gosh. The kid is adorable! Lila was weighed two weeks ago and was 19-lbs. She's 16-months. Your kid is huge. I want a huge breastfed kid for a change!

Usually, I'm okay w/shots. But, when Lila had her last shots, the nurse butchered her! It was horrible. I swear that needle was in her leg for a full 20-seconds. I cried and I never cry at shots.

I told the doctor about it at her next visit and he said he'd do them next time and implied that she doesn't do a good job. He tells me that a bit too late! Anyway, I put off her MMR b/c they do it at 15 months here. Liv had hers at 18-months. So, I'm waiting until then, I think. I can't go through it again any time soon even if the doctor does them!

Lila's calling Liv, "Iia" I love the names they come up with before they can really pronounce it. Way too cute!

Natalie, I think it would be nice if mine could wear their clothes a bit longer. Christopher looks like he will be out of 3-6 month clothes about the time he hits 3 months (though I hope they will last a bit longer.) The nurse was not fast here. I really liked the techs at FWA. They had the shots all lined up and were fast. I remember they were done with the third shot before Ashlyn could get upset about the first. The nurse was nice, but she just cleaned up and put on a band-aid before proceeding.

Ashlyn was 23.75 inches and 12 1/2 lbs, so she was pretty big, too. No rolls, though.

What a CUTIE!! None of my boys would take a paci, either. I tried with Daniel and Mikey, but didn't even bother with Ezra. Mikey sucks his thumb. Wonder how I'm going to try to get rid of that?

Ezra just had his 4 month visit -- 16.2 pounds! Wow! I had such a hard time getting Daniel to 20#. I think he was 14-16 months before he hit that mark. But I don't think I will have a problem with this one.

Angie, you'd get frustrated if your child was just fitting into 12-18 month clothes at 16 months. And, the shoes! Liv has been a 7 for a nearly a year. At least she's wearing out her shoes and not outgrowing them! It's so hard to buy clothes for both girls b/c they are so behind on the normal curve for their age (5th-12th%). I don't want to buy 2T clothing, but 3T is too big and so on and so forth. Frustrating!

Also no paci's here. I tried and tried, as you know. Oh well. No thumb suckers here. Lila was a hand sucker for a little while.

Wesley was maybe that at 12 months. Maybe my next baby will be chubby! Those shots are always horrible. Wesley never wanted a paci or his thumb. He always wanted the real thing...no substitutes allowed. Haha

He's precious! Takes me back to some sleep deprived days when Hannah/Hayes were their ages!

He is beautiful! And bigger than Quinton. His growth slowed down this time, but I think that's because of the surgery. He's still a BIG eater. My poor boobs feel like they're attached to a vacuum cleaner hose 6 times a day.

But I'd much rather that than Gracie's indifferent eating, and her tiny size (until 12 mos or so-- definitely not an issue now).

Your picture of the two kids in their bath towels inspires me. I need to try that one.
