Oh, yeah.....

I forgot to tell you, Angie's finally home and feeling as good as should be expected. She was ready to leave the hospital and begged the doctor to let her go. He did. We came home this morning (Monday) and I immediately abandoned her with what we thought was a sleeping Ashlyn. Needless to say, Angie called me shortly after I left and asked, or rather demanded, that I not "dawdle" since Ashlyn was now up and acting like a 2-year old (I keep telling Ashlyn to "stop acting like a 2-year old," but she doesn't mind me). Don't worry, I hurried and was home 3 hours later! And, Angie was only a little bit fuming, and while she said she was ready to return to the hospital I don't think she really meant it, so no worries.

Anyway, with little to no instruction on travelling in Germany, Margaret & Cary were thrust on to a train and sent galivanting across Germany. And thus, armed with their bicycle-only tickets costing a mere 9 Euro (approximately $3,498 based on the dollar's strong exchange rate), M & C did manage to find their way to Nurnberg and back. However, the ticketmeister discovered these two hooligans were attempting to fleece the German government, so he efficiently (because everything & everyone in Germany is at least efficient, and clean) charged them the additional 61 Euro (only $18, 739, but who's counting) and allowed them to continue on their adventure. M & C were happy to pay since they had no where else to go or hide (it was either that, or get off in Wienerburg and look at Wieners!) To top this off, the cell phone, Angie's cell phone, that we loaned to M & C for their stay, somehow jumped out of M's purse.
So all day we tried calling our two travellers, to make sure they weren't wandering through Berlin, or worse, like Lichtenstein. But, we never got through and could only imagine where our beloved M & C had gone to. Anyway, they did manage to return. They were suppose to call us, using the lost cell phone, to let us know they were at the train station. But instead Angie heard a knock on our front door and opened it to find our weary trekkers shivering. They had walked an hour to travel 1000 meters (1100 yards, 11 football fields, for those who are metrically challenged). The good news is now M & C can show Angie and I around Bertazhausen!!!

So, adventures were had by all. I hope you enjoy the pictures below. Peace out.

Allen - What on earth are you doing leaving Angie at home with an awake 2 year old, a newborn, and gash in her stomach?!? Come on, dude. Where's the love?

Angie - I'd kick him for you if I could but unfortunately my leg is not long enough to reach. Glad you're home.

Well, I'd been checking email daily for updated pics, but never dreamed you (or I guess Allen) would have already updated the blog! I can't find the time without a newborn...maybe it has something to do with 4 children and one currently trying to type with me! Love all the pics...baby Christopher is just beautiful! Glad to hear Angie is doing well- she has a great caretaker and a wonderful little helper, too! Congrats to all! Love you guys!
