January 3rd!

We will have a new baby to hold on January 3rd! We scheduled the c-section at my appointment today. Part of me was a tiny bit disappointed that it wasn't going to be a bit earlier, since I am definitely in the incredibly uncomfortable part of pregnancy (though I really shouldn't complain, since, if I was waiting for nature to take its course, we would probably not see this baby until the middle of January.) Allen just wanted the 2007 tax deduction. The doctor kind of looked at him like he was nuts when he asked it it could be earlier. She said that "we want to keep that baby in as long as possible."

I truly feel better just knowing when the date will be, especially since it won't be until NEXT month, hey, really next year. I feel like I can relax, enjoy Christmas, plus put all of my Christmas decorations away before the baby comes. And, I want to spend some time with Ashlyn in her last few weeks as our only child. Though we've talked about the new baby and she will tell you that I have a baby in my belly, I don't think she gets it. She also spends quite a bit of time telling me and anyone else in the world that I am "Ashlyn's mommy." She may be in for quite a shock. Hopefully, she will just quickly lay claim to the new baby as well, and inform everyone that he/she is "Ashlyn's brother" or "Ashlyn's sister."

I guess I can put away the "My First Christmas" bear until next year and thank goodness I talked myself out of buying the baby a Christmas outfit!

I'm glad you have a date - now you just need names!

YAY! January 3rd. How many weeks will you be at that point? So exciting (and kind of weird) to know the date. I can't wait.

I'll be almost 39 weeks (8 days early.) And, yeah, it is kind of weird to know the date. Takes a bit of the surprise away. But, when you have family traveling around the world to help, that's good.

So you will have family there shortly thereafter or during? I loved the help. In fact, family is here now and I take full advantage of it.

Congrats on the date. I'm excited for you!

Wow, 39 weeks?!? I don't think you'll make it. I'm betting on a little Alan Jr. tax deduction. ;) Or maybe the first baby of the new year. Don't people get prizes for that?

Very cool birth "day"! We've nearly got the first week covered with celebrations between the two of us! That's great your family is coming, they will be such a help. Accept everything they offer! :) Lots of love!

Ashlynn is going to love having a new baby being around. They adapt very fast to being big sisters.

Good luck and take it easy. 3 weeks and counting.

Wow! That is so exciting! My brother was born on January 3, 1978! So, I am thinking it is a boy and you will name him David (my brother's name!)

The longer the better--I agree with the doctor. Get that birthday as far from Christmas as you can! Good job!
